Information for foreigners

This website has been designed for foreign nationals and members of the professional community in order to navigate the foreigners, who would like to permanently live in the Slovak Republic and to provide them with basic information on entry to and residence in the territory of the Slovak Republic, on possibilities related to employment, housing and education including the way on how to proceed in order to recognize their foreign diplomas.

Information on 1) employment of Foreign Nationals in Slovakia, 2) who does not need a work permit or confirmation, 3) single permit, 4) work permit, 5) reporting a Vacancy and the Situation on the Labour Market, 6) seasonal employment of third-country nationals in the Slovak Republic can also be found on the IOM Migration Information Centre.

Other sources of information offer the Danube Region Information Platform for Economic Integration of Migrants (DRIM). Danube Compass was created as a part of the project Danube Region Information Platform for Economic Integration of Migrants (DRIM), co-funded by European Union (ERDF, IPA) through Danube Transnational Programme. The goal of the project is to enhance capacities of public institutions for enabling migrants’ economic integration in the eight countries of the Danube Region.
